Directed by Nóra Lakos, “I Accidentally Wrote a Book” (based on the novel "Hoe ik per ongeluk een boek schreef" by Annet Huizing), tells the very personal and inspiring story of 12-year-old Nina, who discovers the healing power of writing. As she learns to write, Nina experiences the long-suppressed grief of her long-lost mother, and gains a deeper sense of self.
The film includes a short animated sequence that explores grief and loss. I had the pleasure to create this animated sequence together with Quita Felix, under art direction by Peter Batory. Since it’s a serious topic for children, we wanted to create a visual language that feels both engaging and sensitive.
The film had it's Hungarian premiere on january 16th, 2025, and will premiere in the Netherlands on july 30th, 2025
